These rays below yours look completely different to me, might just be the pics but if I didn't know better I would have said they had some Motoro mixed into them, especially the last one....prob just the pics......not intended to offend!

Is it the colour that makes you think so?
Its pretty normal for them to turn gray. Then black later again. Seems to be part of the development.

al my pure BD's are gray at this verry moment. i expect a lot of this particulair female.

Hi Anders.
I am well aware of the colour change having kept black rays back in the 80's as well as to this present day. It was the height of the mantle I was looking and general thorax region, looks slightly lower in this area, I have also seen Leo's hybridized with Motoro with this type of spotting.I never id any fish using markings\base colour alone, this is so variable in nature.
If Renzenator knows of the origin of his fish and he is happy that they are pure then its case closed, they are what he says they are....simple as.
