Hope the tail will grow as you expected. Looking at the tail before cutting it not too bad . Sometime when they grow older the bone at tail will get straight. I think the new growth will be quite similar to before you cut.

nice work, very good hand work, just like a fish doctor. You should change more water during the regrow period, this will make sure the newly grow tail to be good.
bye the way, where you get this RTG from? what name is on the cites? I believe not many people have brought in this fish. just want to know if this is one of my fish i sent to Europe.
