Must be an insane amount of water when it hits you floor. When I by accident kick over a bucket with one liter of water it already seems like a huge amount...

I have a nice sad story also.. 1600 Liters in my house after a construction mistake.. Stupid builder !! I was also very lucky i had no fish in the tank..

I kinda wonder if that much force can kill?

Anders I don't think the force of the water would kill but that guy was 'lucky' in that the tank broke on the wall side so the glass could not be pushed far. When my tank broke it was out into the room and the glass was forced across the width of the room (14ft) and only stopped at the wall. Now if that hit you then maybe?

This must be everyones most nightmare and one we don't want to think about especially with the size of ray tanks. I try and just appreciate the joy of the rays and do what I can to prevent this happening hence the acrylic tank. OK acrylic might go but at least it shouldn't shatter and in my mind is safer than glass. Just my opinion though.

If a large tank breaks when you stand in front of it and the glas hits you on the wrong angle, you can die really easy. Broken glas can be really sharp and if applied with sufficient force can dismember/kill you.

Ask an average window setter or proffesional that works with glas daily and you will find that most of them had serious accidents with glass. And each of them have their own horror stories to tell

thats sooooooooooo crazy

my cousin used to work for a glass company and was carrying a piece of 4mm glass and some fool had left a hose lying on the floor and my cousin tripped over it and the glass came down on his wrist nearly taking off his hand, not to mention the blood loss nearly killed him.
